A-D show a specialized membrane junction. The highest magnification in B shows that the junction was immunocytochemically labeled for a tag on conotoxin. The gold particles (dense, round dots) show the site of the tag (easier to detect than the conotoxin itself which is in the membrane). What junction is being depicted in these photos?
